The glacially reshaped valley of the upper course of the Savinja is one of the most beautiful Alpine valleys in Europe. From rock steps streams pour down in waterfalls towards the levelled flat floor, the valley floor is clad in a green carpet of meadows, and above the fringe of dark green forests rise the peaks of the Savinja Alps.In the head of the valley below the Okrešelj cirque the Savinja wells up, which as the Rinka waterfall descends into the valley and begins its eventful course.
Besides mountain walking and alpinism, the Logar Valley offers ski touring, a small ski slope, maintained cross-country ski trails, paragliding, mountain biking and numerous wonderful corners of the Logar Valley Landscape Park.
