You start in front of the cycling club in Ptuj and ride into the park beside the Drava. When you ride under the railway bridge you turn left beside the railway line to Ormoška cesta and onto the marked cycle path. After a good kilometre you arrive in Budina and through the settlement you ride to the Ristovec manor and into Brstje, where you turn first left and in the centre of the settlement right. Thus you will arrive in Spuhlja, where we recommend riding along the pavement to the Vila Monde inn. From there at the first junction you turn left and at the second right towards Dornava, where already from afar you notice the avenue of trees and the magnificent Baroque manor. At the main junction in Dornava you turn left towards Polenšak, and after the bridge over the Pesnica immediately to the right, onto a long level stretch which ends at Žamenci. Here the Ptuj field passes into the hilly world of the Slovenske gorice, which you feel in three shorter climbs which end after four kilometres at Lasigovci. Head left towards Polenšak and after a demanding climb you have the chance to reward yourself with refreshment and a look at the church of St Mary at Polenšak. From there you cycle still deeper into the world of the Slovenske gorice towards Rotman, where you turn right at the junction, past Sakušak to Gomila, which at an altitude of 352 m is the highest part of this route, while the lookout tower in fine weather allows you a view into Austria, Hungary and Croatia. At Sakušak there is a turning which leads to the museum in the birthplace of the inventor Janez Puh. From Gomila you descend to Zagorci, and on a sharp right bend you turn right towards Kokolajnšček. Through Gibina and Stračina you descend to Hvaletinci and again you are in the lowland world. Through Grlinci and Gabernik (right) you cycle into Mostje, traverse the river Pesnica and at Pacinje head right into Sp. Velovlek. There you turn left, since you have to "jump over" the hilly Kicar. At the end of the descent you turn left, ride another kilometre on gravel past the sign for Ptuj, through Žabjak back to the starting point in front of the Perutnina.

The most important sight along this route is the Dornava manor, built in 1435, which is the most important secular building of the late Baroque in Slovenia. One of the numerous owners, the Sauer family,had it rebuilt at the beginning of the 18thcent. into the building it is today. The grandly conceived manor had a large English park stretching all the way to the river Pesnica. Some parts of the furnishings from this castle can be seen in the Ptuj regional museum, while the castle can be seen under the guidance of the local guiding service. The mighty church of St Mary at Polenšak is from the beginning of the 17th cent.; it is called the "little white church" and many pilgrims like to visit it, above all the sick and the disabled. At Sakušak stands the birthplace of Janez Puh, the well-known inventor, who also left his mark on cycling. The local society of Janez Puh's compatriots has converted this building into a museum, certainly worth your viewing. A little further on, at Gomila, stands a lookout tower which from an altitude of 352 m makes it possible for those who do not otherwise speak Slovenian to see their birthplace too. At Hvaletinci there are a plague shrine from the 17th cent. and a more recent chapel, while at Mostje there are an older chapel and a monument to the fighters against the occupier in the Second World War
