At the Šport hotel at Otočec they organise guided cycling tours, so I took part in one myself. On the route towards Kostanjevica na Krki 10 cyclists set off. The route led us from in front of the Šport hotel to the right for the village of Otočec. In the middle of the village we turned off for the village of Ratež, then down the slope, over the bridge of the river Krka to the village of Gumberk. Through a small wood we cycled into the village of Ratež, then at the crossroads we turned left for the village of Morko polje. We rode through the beautiful valley of cviček.

The route led us onwards across the Pendirjevka stream and through the villages of Gornje and Dolnje Gradišče, Dobravica. The route is completely flat without slopes and descends slowly all the way. We ride across Šentjernejsko polje, while on the right the Gorjanci accompany us.  We cycle into the village of Šentjernej. At the traffic lights we go straight on. On the right-hand side is a petrol station, where we had our first stop and refreshed ourselves a little. After a short rest we set off along the main road for Kostanjevici – caution will not be superfluous.

Our route continued to the next village, Dolnja Prekopa, across the Trebež stream and on to Dobrava pri Kostanjevici. We continued straight on through the village of Dobe and after a while arrived in Kostanjevica na Krki. We rode across the southern bridge, around the island, and ended our outing at the Otok pizzeria.
