Domačija Trata is a renovated farmhouse which preserves the cultural heritage of the rural environment. It is set in the idyllic Upper Sava Valley, surrounded by mountain peaks, with the central rock pyramid of Špik, which further emphasises the charm of the mighty homestead. In the renovation it kept the Alpine type of construction, which is distinguished by carefully chosen building material, above all wood, which complements the masonry features of the building. To the idyllic quality of the homestead contributes the mighty linden tree, which as its trademark immediately draws our gaze.

The interior of the homestead too has been renovated with respect for the past, with much imagination,  with original ideas and with artistic touches. The rooms have been renewed with a hint of the vanishing style of our ancestors and with a skilful inclusion of modern elements which make modern living possible. Exhibits have been preserved which recall the old-time farming environment. The right choice of colours, materials and roughly worked wood gives a feeling of warmth and homeliness, creates a pleasant setting in which time stands still. On the wooden floors old rustic furniture is placed, treated with natural, environmentally friendly oils and waxes. The hand-made solid beds, decorated with original carvings, are unique. Every piece of furniture is one of a kind and gives the room its wholeness. Forgotten antique objects have been used which, worked with a designer's feeling, enrich every corner of the living spaces. To the kitchens and bathrooms too, which need modern equipment for their function, elements have been added that awaken a memory of the past. They are adorned by hand-made clay mosaics, which bring a pleasant colourfulness into these rooms. All the rooms are adorned by hand-made decorative objects, hand-shaped clay lights, paintings and photographs which awaken the feeling that you are in a gallery.

Domačija Trata has several  living units (APT 4 – 10), from 4 to 10 beds. The homestead offers you everything you need for pampering on any day of the year. It has a wireless internet connection, and a sufficient number of parking spaces is available.
Beside the homestead there is a garage space: a ski room for ski equipment and for storing bicycles. The homestead also has a 3000 m2 meadow with a wonderful view of Mount Špik, where a boules court and a court for volleyball, five-a-side football and other social sports will be set up .
