The Savinja region links the upper course of the Savinja below the Kamnik-Savinja Alps with the Celje basin and the hills along the Sotla. In it, Alpine valleys, spa towns, Pohorje and towns with a marked historical and industrial heritage.

Podčetrtek is associated with Terme Olimia and the nearby monastery Olimje, Rogaška Slatina with mineral water and a spa tradition, Laško with brewing and thermal spas, Rimske Toplice and with the spa on the Savinja. Zreče lie below Pohorje, Rogla above them combines skiing and cross-country skiing with hiking and cycling in its offer.

Celje is marked by the heritage of the Counts of Celje and the castle above the town. Solčava is connected with the Logar Valley, Robanov Kot and Matkov kot, between which the Solčava panoramic road runs. The Logar valley and Robanov kot are landscape parks, and Matkov kot is a natural monument. Mozirje and Gornji Grad lie on the route into the Upper Savinja Valley.
