The renovated Šport hotel is located in the heart of the Pokljuka plateau, not far from Bled and Bohinj and far from grey concrete and everyday stress.

In the hotel it is possible to hire equipment for cross-country skiing, sledges and snowshoes, and to store skiing and cross-country equipment in winter, as well as to hire mountain bikes and store guests' bicycles in summer. In front of the hotel there is free parking (also for coaches and larger groups).
Pokljuka is a plateau richly endowed with snow. As a centre for biathlon and cross-country skiing, the plateau offers all lovers of running and winter walking around 30 km of cross-country trails and family pistes for alpine skiing.
Cross-country skiing
From the end of November to the first days of May Pokljuka offers ideal conditions for cross-country skiing. All lovers of running are awaited by more than 30 km of well-kept, well-established trails for the classic style and the skating technique.
If you have never stood on cross-country skis but have always wanted to try, excellent cross-country skiing instructors await you on Pokljuka, who in a few hours will bring this winter discipline closer to you and teach you the right steps.
AN INTERESTING FACT: in the winter months biathlon competitions, including World Cup races, also take place on Pokljuka. Pokljuka is also the official training place of the Slovenian biathlon national team!

Skiing
On Pokljuka the ski pistes are suitable for learning to ski, for families with small children and for returning beginners. The pistes are gentle and clear; the prevailing lifts are T-bars and button lifts, and a children's lift or babylift is also available.

Pokljuka has a network of well-kept easy and moderately difficult trails for snow trips, walking off the beaten track, snowshoeing, snow walks with torches and snow fun. The trails lead to numerous viewpoints and peaks, from which wonderful views over the surrounding Vršaci and lakes open out.

Among connoisseurs and lovers of ski touring, Pokljuka is certainly renowned as a true paradise for ski touring. At the end of the February days, when the first warm spring rays peek out from behind the clouds and snow conditions for ski touring are exceptional, Pokljuka is flooded with skiing enthusiasts who seek real snow challenges in the powder and conquer one after another the peaks of the wonderful Pokljuka plateaus and mountain pastures.
