The Julian Alps are Slovenia's highest mountain range, and their Triglav, at 2864 metres, is the highest peak in Slovenia. Most of the range lies within the Triglav National Park, and along its edge come the destinations with the largest offer in the country: Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora, Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin. In summer, hiking, cycling and rafting and kayaking in the Soča Valleycome to the fore; in winter the ski resorts and cross-country trails in Kranjska Gora, on Vogel and in Planica, and in spring and autumn a quieter visit to the valleys, gorges and waterfalls.

On the portal, 63 places are assigned to the Julian Alps, including, besides those listed, also Kranj and Bohinjska Bistrica. The best represented are winter activities and cycling, each with around 110 entries. The offer is divided into the Gorenjska side with Bled and Bohinj and the Primorska side with the Soča valley, where water experiences are to the fore.
