From in front of the hotel in Ormož you head towards Velika Nedelja. It is necessary to join the very busy main road with caution. After a few 100 metres you turn right towards Hajndl and after barely a kilometre of ridge riding you arrive in Velika Nedelja. In Velika Nedelja you turn right and cycle below the castle and the church of the Holy Trinity. In Sodinci you turn right and through the smaller settlements of Vičanci, Sejanci and Bratonečice you ride along the valley of the Sejanci stream to Savci. The Savci fishpond on the left-hand side is suitable for picnics and many sporting activities. You ride right towards Sv. Tomaž, and up to the village you have to overcome two kilometres of climbing. Keep to the left, both at the top and after the descent, but you must be attentive when in the valley you turn onto a side road. The short level stretch is just the thing for a rest before the climb to Stara cesta, and the ride through the forest will soften the slope for you in the summer heat. In some parts you can stop and look around the Pomurje plain. Stara cesta is a long settlement which ends with a steep descent. On the level and already at lower speed, be careful when you cross the unprotected railway crossing. There is practically no time for rest, since after crossing the main road the two of you bite into a new climb at Žerovinci. At the top, at the 25th kilometre of the route, you turn left, but you can take refreshment at an excursion farm , which is a little off the route. On the right-hand side you can already see Jeruzalem, which is the last and highest summit of this route, but before that you descend into Radomerščak, where the birthplace of the important linguist Franc Miklošič is on view. Short cut: If you wish to deprive yourself of the descent and half the climb, you can follow the sign for the Wine Route, which is however not asphalted. Onwards, though, take it slowly, since 3 kilometres of demanding climbing await you (the notices about the gradient of the road are probably a little exaggerated). Just below the top there is also the turning for Železne Dveri. Before you descend back towards Ormož, you can climb the lookout tower, although from below an enormous amount can already be seen, and the Jeruzalem Wine House is the right place for a shorter rest. From there all routes lead into the valley, and to Ormož the shortest is through Mali Brebrovnik, Vinski Vrh and Veliki Brebrovnik (right on the main road). At Pavlovci you have to go over the railway crossing; at the traffic lights in Hardek you ride straight on and you are already in Ormož.

Ormož, which from the 13thcent was known under the name Holermus, already had the status of a town in 1331. The settlement developed around the castle of Friedau , built in 1279, which however today shows a Baroque appearance. Near the starting point is the church of St James, which is first mentioned in in 1271. The church of the Holy Trinity and the Velika Nedelja castle were built in the 13th cent., and for a long period were in the ownership of the German Order of Knights. Beside the road are a statue of St John of Nepomuk from 1744 and a triangular shrine with niches. In Sodinci, in the forest, there is a hill fort fortified with a ditch and a rampart from the period of the Urnfield culture. For relaxation and recreation the Savci fishpond is intended, where on summer days you can find your peace and pleasures in nature. At the top of the first climb stands the church of St Thomas from 1725 with a unified Baroque design in the shape of an equilateral cross and Neo-Renaissance furnishings. In the valley before the hardest climb (Radomerščak) decide on a rest and view the birthplace of the important linguist and Viennese university professor Franc Miklošič (1813 – 1891). The highest point of the cycle route offers you, on the lookout tower at Jeruzalem, a view of the part of the countryside you have ridden through, and a few metres later, besides a refreshment station, there is also the church of the Sorrowful Mother of God. During the long descent to Ormož your eye rests on the beauties of the Slovenske gorice. You can also see the birthplace of the storyteller, poet and dramatist Fran Ksaver Meško (1874-1964) at Gornji Ključarovci.
