Boat transport along the Slovenian coast

In 2026 the catamaran Prince of Venice sails directly from Piran to Venice and back every Saturday from 2 May to 10 October. Prior booking is compulsory. The one-way crossing takes about three hours: about two hours across the open sea
and about one more hour of slower sailing through the Venetian lagoon. For guests staying on the Slovenian coast, bus transport to Piran and back is also arranged with selected bookings. The Bay of Piran is a popular starting point for sailing and exploring the northern Adriatic. Along the Slovenian coast it is possible to hire sailing boats, motor vessels and other
recreational vessels. To operate a vessel independently you must meet the provider's conditions and hold an appropriate valid licence. A vessel can also be hired with an experienced skipper or boat master.

Marina Koper has 68 berths in the sea and 26 places for vessels on land. It is intended for vessels up to 18 metres long, and the maximum permitted draught is 3.5 metres. The berths have water and electricity connections. A 50-tonne mobile crane, a 3.5-tonne jib crane, a fuel pump and facilities for disposing of oils, paints, batteries and black water are available.

Marina Portorož has two basins with 650 berths in the water and space for up to 300 vessels ashore. The berths in the water are intended for vessels from 6 to 30 metres in length, with a maximum permitted draught of 3.8 metres. The berths have water and electricity connections. The marina also offers secure car parks, a fuel pump, a pump for sewage and bilge water, repair services and two halls for year-round vessel storage.

Marina Izola, which operates under the MarinaUp brand, has 800 berths for vessels up to 45 metres long. The berths are equipped with electricity, water and wireless internet and are protected by two large breakwaters. A 60-tonne self-propelled crane, maintenance and servicing, 24-hour mooring assistance and night security of the marina are available.
