Betnava Manor

Betnava manor on the southern edge of Maribor is one of the loveliest Baroque architectures of the Drava region. The Maribor Versailles, as it is also called, has a Renaissance conception, and later received a Baroque covering. The beauty of the manor is emphasised by the protruding risalit of the front façade with a triangular gable, the pilaster articulation of the front and the entrance portal with a balcony.

The interior is adorned by illusionistic frescoes and a luxurious Baroque staircase with stone balustrades.

Exceptionally lovely is the knights' hall with paintings on the theme of spring, and worth seeing too are the rooms with original furniture, which are otherwise rearranged into the museum of the Maribor diocese. The image of the castle is completed by the park with a Baroque-designed form in the green hedge and the lines of trees.
